If I remember correctly, up to now,
three black youths and one adult have been killed by the American police. This
death toll is already exceeding
the limits of brute force and barbarous actions
against American-African people in
the USA
In a
country the records of
which have been regrettable
along policemen violence
against black people, in a country that
has gone through a historical bloody past brought about the stigma
of racism, social segregation between
whites and blacks that culminated
with the battle of racism by
great men like Martins Luther
King and a few other leading men
who faced the most disgusting kind of
feeling represented by the
social evils caused by racism, a fascist
conception of valuing
human beings by mere
skin difference which does not
find any scientific support from science.
I
think it is high time President Obama, specially because he himself is
half-bred and a Nobel Peace
Prize winner, and is so
morally the most
important person to
take the lead and once and for all to
strive for putting an end
to this bloodshed people the world over has seen on TV channels.
He is vested with all the weight of his
influence and power to find a solution for
the successive deaths
of black people
in the country he is
currently ruling.. It up to
him to endeavor all his
efforts with the help
of allied white important
American leaders to fight
against racism with a steady fist and
with all the authority he has
been entrusted with by American Constitution.
His
political biography will be scratched
if he neglects this crucial
issue. I am sure he does not wish
it to happen. Great men, statesmen of the past, including Abe Lincoln,
have proven themselves, by their remarkable biographies, that
there are enough good examples
which Obama can mirror
on to find an immediate way
out as far this
serious problem is concerned. In
one of President’s Obama recent
speeches he asked for society
to be “calm” concerning the deaths of black people, in my view, by unprepared policemen. He is, so to speak, on the horns of two dilemmas: either the USA humanizes her police force, or there will certainly be
days of unprecedented social turmoil
ahead.
Therefore, President Barack Obama
will have to show all his
authority by punishing criminal
policemen anywhere in the USA
I hope the American people as a whole, blacks and whites, will join this
struggle, of course in a
peaceful way, hand and hand
with President Obama. If society
in bulk protests against the barbarous – a shame on modern times for a civilized nation which ranks first in the world economy - behavior shown by some policemen when
treating or searching a suspect just because he is poor and black, I am mostly sure
the problem will result favorable for
black people in general.
Thus, only
the pressure of civilian society with the
authority of the President of the United States will violence
against blacks change for better
or even be reduced almost to nothing.
The problem is in the hands of
American people of good will
who know that only through peaceful means will
the country get his
best of practising true
democracy.
I guess
this is one of the
strategies that should at
once be
instrumental in tackling this
issue and so avoid those
abominable disproportionate
actions of policemen in
groups trying to shackle just one unarmed man crying alone in utter despair: “I can’t breathe”, by repeating
his words without the
least sign of mercifulness on the
part of the strong and at the same time coward
cops. So was killed the black American man, an American born citizen
entitled to the same benefits granted to any
citizen living under American
Civil Rights guaranteed by the American
Constitution.
His
final and agonizing
cry, “I can’t breathe’, if
depended on this columnist, should
be a meaningful motto
to be echoed everywhere in
the country of George Washington
and other great men
of the USA. As a Brazilian writer, from this column I am expressing my deepest sympathies to the family of this innocent, perhaps one among others in the same situation.
In conclusion of my ideas about
these very sad incidents,
allow me to get inspiration in the
four freedoms proposed by Franklin Delano Delano Roosevelt, by the way cited in my previous article in this blog: a
fifth freedom from fear of being born black in
the United States with the right of
walking, go anywhere and live in
peace like any other individual in
the world.

americanos estão errados: a população
negra seguramente usará de seus direitos

Se não incorro em erro, até agora três americanos de cor negra
e um adulto foram assassinados pela polícia
americana. Este número de homicídios já extrapolou os limites
da violência e de ações bárbaras
contra afro-americanos nos Estados Unidos. Algo não se
está fazendo corretamente
na administração da política
da violência usada por policiais no país
que não deveria permitir que
tais crimes pudessem ser cometidos
por aqueles que são pagos
pelo Estado a fim de defender as pessoas
independentemente da cor da pele. Na
minha visão, essas ações são claramente ilegais e , com tal, devem ser
punidas com o rigor da
Justiça americana em cada estado.
Um país cujo recorde de violência policial contra negros tem sido recentemente
deplorável, num país sobretudo
que já passou por derramamento de sangue
em períodos históricos passados e
que provocaram o estigma do racismo, da
segregação social entre brancos e
pretos, culminando na batalha contra o racismo.
Esta batalha
foi conduzida por eminentes homens como Martin Luther King e poucas outras figuras de destaque, que enfrentaram o mais detestável
tipo de sentimento representado
pelos males sociais produzidos pelo estigma do racismo, uma concepção fascista de
valorizar seres humanos meramente pela cor da pele, a qual não se
sustenta cientificamente.
Julgo que já era hora de o Presidente Barack Obama enfrentar a questão do racismo e da causa do negro pobre americano de um vez por todas, seja por ser ganhador do Prêmio Nobel da Paz, seja por ser mestiço e por ser, assim, moralmente a pessoa mais proeminente a fim de pôr cobro a este derramamento de sangue
a que se tem assistido pelos canais de TV do mundo
inteiro.
Obama está investido de todo o peso pessoa de sua influência e poder a fim de encontrar uma solução para
as sucessivas mortes de negros
no país que governa. Cabe a ele esforçar-se ao máximo com o apoio de importantes
aliados líderes brancos com o
objetivo de combater o racismo com
pulso firme e com toda a autoridade que lhe outorga a Constituição
americana.
Sua biografia política será arranhada se houver desatenção dele sobre esta intrincada questão e estou certo de que ele não desejará isso
para si. Notáveis homens, estadistas do passado, incluindo Abe
Lincoln, demonstraram, através de
suas magníficas biografias, que existem suficientes bons
exemplos nos quais Obama pode se espelhar a fim de encontrar
uma saída no que concerne a este sério
problema. Num dos mais
recentes pronunciamentos do Presidente Obama, ele pediu que a
sociedade se “acalmasse” no que tange às mortes de negros, a meu ver,
causadas por policias
despreparados. Ele, por assim
dizer, se encontra diante de dois
dilemas: ou os EUA humanizam seus policiais,
ou haverá seguramente dias
de turbulência sem precedente
pela frente.
Por conseguinte, O Presidente Obama terá que fazer valer toda
a sua autoridade punindo policiais
criminosos em qualquer parte dos EUA. O
que não pode persistir é a forma pela qual negros
estão sendo fuzilados atualmente. Por motivos não claramente justificáveis, um negro
abordado deve merecer ser executado à queima roupa. Em sã consciência, esta não é a maneira correta de um policial atirar contra um suposto
bandido. Até mesmo indiscutíveis criminosos
devem merecer um tratamento
consoante modos corretos
de ação militar.
Espero que o povo americano como um todo , pretos e brancos, juntar-se-ão
nesta luta, é claro, por meios pacíficos, de mãos dadas com o Presidente
Obama. No caso de a sociedade em bloco protestar contra a maneira
selvagem - vergonha para os tempos modernos de uma nação civilizada que detém o primeiro lugar na economia mundial - demonstrada
na abordagem por alguns policiais de
suspeitos meramente por serem negros e pobres, não tenho dúvida de que o
problema terá efeitos favoráveis aos negros em geral.
Desta maneira,
somente a pressão da sociedade
civil junto com a autoridade do Presidente
dos EUA fará com que a violência contra negros melhore ou mesmo se reduza
ao mínimo. A questão fica nas mãos do
povo americano de bons sentimentos, os quais sabem que, somente
pela paz o pais encontrara sua melhor
e verdadeira atuação democrática.
Creio que
esta é uma das estratégias que deveriam de mediato
ser implementadas na resolução da questão e assim evitar esses abomináveis ações desproporcionais de policiais em grupos
procurando algemar um homem sozinho e
desarmado gritando em desespero: “Não consigo respirar”, repetindo suas palavras sem a mínima reação
de misericórdia da parte de
corpulentos e ao mesmo tempo covardes
policiais.
Assim
faleceu este homem negro, um
cidadão americano com direito à mesma
proteção dos Lei constitucional americana.Seu grito final e
agonizante, “Não consigo respirar”, se
dependesse deste colunista, bem deveria
ser o lema emblemático ecoando por todo
o país de George Washington e
outros ilustres varões da América. Como escritor brasileiro, desta coluna expresso minhas sentidas condolências
à família deste inocente, talvez
um entre outros na mesma situação.
